All of Ephesus Hears the Gospel
In Acts chapter 19 Paul travels to Ephesus and stays, teaching about Jesus Christ for 2 years. In Ephesus, Paul found some more believers who, like Appollos from chapeter 18, did not know of the Holy spirit, but only of the preaching of John the Baptist. (more…)
Strengthening the Churches & Taking the Gospel to Macedonia
In Acts Chapter 16 Paul has parted ways with Barnabas over a personal dispute. Silas, Timothy, and Luke (notice the text is now in the first person since Acts was written by Luke) join him on his next missionary journey to Macedonia.

The second half of Acts Chapter 8 continues to follow the missionary work of the Apostle Philip. An angel appears to Philip and tells him to go to a certain road that goes from Jerusalem to Gaza. Philip obeys and on the road meats an Ethiopian official traveling back home after worshiping in Jerusalem. (more…)
In Acts chapters 6 and 7 the church in Jerusalem continues to grow. When some disputes arise between believers, the Apostles decide to appoint some leaders in the Church to handle the problems that happen when you put together large numbers of people. One of these appointed leaders is named Stephen, who becomes the first Christian martyr. (more…)
The book of Acts contains the early history of the Church, immediately after Jesus ascended to heaven. Acts Chapter 1 starts with telling us that Jesus appear to the apostles and other disciples over a period of 40 days after his resurrection. During this time, the disciples ask of Jesus will now restore the kingdom to Israel. (more…)
Matthew 25 continues the conversation about the End of the Age which the disciples asked Jesus to explain. Jesus starts to talk in parables again, explaining how he will return at an unknown time, warning us to always be ready. (more…)
God is incredibly unique, so it’s impossible for our created human minds to completely and clearly grasp all the uniqueness of the only existing being that has no beginning and no end. Understanding the Holy Trinity is a part of God that can be particularly difficult for us to grasp. (more…)
The first half of Matthew chapter 12 tells us of some accusations the Pharisees were making against Jesus and his disciples. Specifically, they were trying to say that Jesus and the disciples were breaking the Sabbath. In reality, they were only breaking rules that the Pharisees had set up around the Sabbath. As I’ve written before, Following God’s laws are meant to provide us with more freedom, not less. (more…)
