Comment on Understanding The Trinity by Tammi Vaughan

I had a dream that I interpreted to be the trinity. I am currently painting the dream.
In this dream I was standing at a field and he approached me and told me he had something to show me. He did not
speak with his mouth instead the communication was telepathic. I followed him down a worn path in the field to what
appeared like a small body of water. He raised his hand and told me to look. What I saw and felt was almost
indescribable in human words. There above the water were two fish that floated around back, forth and around each
other in what appeared some type of dance. The fish looked like crystal made of all the colors of the rainbow. The
colors where very intense and brighter than anything I have ever seen before. The colors appeared to move and shift
as the fish moved back and forth in and around one another. Upon looking at these beautiful fish, I felt such an intense
sensation of love, happiness, and peace feelings that completely indescribable in any words or terms that I know. The
sensation was so powerful my entire being felt as if it could burst with over abundance of joy. I pondered for years off
and on trying to determine what this dream meant. Although my life was busy with three small children and attending
college, the dream never left my mind. I can envision it as clear today as the night it was dreamt. Throughout the
years, I was very cautious about with whom I shared my experiences and only shared them with my family and closest
friends. I felt like the dream needed to be painted in order to share this with others. Although I wanted to paint the
dream, I lacked the confidence to attempt the re-creation of it. Currently, I am painting this dream.

Ben,
I am enjoying reading your study of Matthew and I especially like your commentary and insights into the passages. Your example of legalistic behavior was helpful to me as I try to enforce the "rules" with the girls. I don't want to be too legalistic. Hard to find the balance sometimes....

To ixousdan:
I think Jesus is simply telling us to be wise and to be on guard. If you are following and working for the Lord, Satan will try to hinder you by any means necessary. So in daily life, be shrewd and aware of the world around you, but also be gentle, peaceful, and innocent.

What does it mean to be shrewd as snakes? How would we use this command in daily life?

This link takes you to a series legal examples of silencing Christians as the government is attempting to remove 1st amendment rights targeting Christians specifically. To administrators quoting a bible verse in class is dangerous, but discussing witchcraft and the boiling of live animals in oil is considered acceptable.

To DW,

Well, Just before chapter 5 starts we are told that Jesus calls Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John to follow him. Then we're told he goes around the area teaching and healing and "crowds" start to follow him. The very next sentence starts off by saying when he say the "crowds", he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them saying...

To me, this sounds like he was directly addressing the disciples he gathered in the verses from chapter 4. But we have to take into account that the Gospels are just highlights from Jesus' life, so he may have had "The twelve" with him by now. But whatever the case, Jesus is talking to his disciples and not the "crowd".

Now there may have been disciples in the crowd that he was addressing too, but many times, Jesus' opposition, the Pharisees were often part of the "crowd".

So in summary, it doesn't really matter who heard Jesus words, the text makes it clear that the message was directed to Jesus' disciples.

In Response to DW,

Jesus says John was a prophet, so it seems John got his message/foreknowledge from God and the Old Testament, the latter also backing up his claims.
<code><a href="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2011:7-15;&version=31;" rel="nofollow">See Matthew 11:7-15</a></code>.
